centerless grinding

What is Centerless Grinding?

The process of removing material from a cylindrical part without using a spindle to turn it. Centerless grinding produces a “machined surface” that a cutting tool in a turning process would not be able to deliver. With the use of grinding wheels, we remove material and finish the part’s surface with precision. Although these machines were first engineered in the early 1900s, they are still heavily used today in the aerospace fastener industry. With few modifications they are still faster than most CNCs and newer machines designed.
